Colette Brandenburg is the Co-founder and artistic director of the LA Follies. After receiving her undergraduate degree in International Affairs and French from Lewis and Clark College, she was accepted to the Alvin Ailey School's dance conservatory program in NYC. She began freelance choreographing after completing conservatory, and had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings ranging from traditional musical formats to site-specific avant-garde events on rooftops in London. Colette began teaching and creating contemporary work as an artist-in-residence in Los Angeles, and later pursued her MFA in London. Whilst in London, she founded a contemporary dance company The Federation which performed at the Glastonbury Festival, The Place (Resolutions) and a variety of other events.
Eventually she moved back to LA and after a job in pyrotechnics at Universal Studios, began a company with her co-founder Shannon Zimmerman, the LA Follies.
